Regional Forums
The American Academy’s Commission on the Humanities and Social Sciences has sponsored
a series of regional forums, at which more than 80 witnesses have described best
practices, innovations, and ideas to strengthen and promote the humanities and social
sciences in the United States. The forums have examined the importance of the humanities
and social sciences in K-12 and higher education, in public and civic life, in international
relations, national security, and global competitiveness, and in local communities.
